I was adding some pictures on our website under Tarwater history today. As I added the pictures I could not help but stop and relive the memories of the past 32 years of this place. Over 200 employees have come and gone, some staying for a very short time, others for several years, and yet others who have
become or were "lifers". These are the ones, other than family, who have stayed the course over thick and thin, good and bad, pretty and ugly and etc... I can think of several, Leonard (this will be 29 years), Tom (this will be 23 years), Julie, who just did leave after 20years, and others who were here at least 5 years. Memories flood my brain for all of them, but there is one who has burned his place in my memory that is almost unmatched with anybody else I have ever known. William Hamilton Calhoun III (better known to those who knew him as Ham) will never leave the depths of my memories. It wasn't about how long he was here although it was a very long time, but about how he helped shape my life. Ham and my father were such good friends, co-workers for well over 25 years. They were about the same age and did a lot together. Ham would scold me, lecture me and teach me much like ny own dad. Ham loved all of us kids like his own although I'm sure I caused him some grief in my childish ways. Ham passed away in 1995 at the young age of 50. I miss him still so much today. Some people make a deep impression on your life and Ham was one. Ham, I miss you and love you. Rest in peace my friend.

Ham's picture is under TarwaterHistory on the images page on the website.
